Thanks Me Later is an automatic email system, which acknowledges a visitor who drops a comment on the blog. The Plugin creates an email for the visitor using the details provided at the time of comment, and sends the acknowledgement. Acknowledging your visitors for comment also helps in gaining blogging exposure and loyalty points amongst the readers of the blog.

The Thank Me Later Plugin is easy to install and has flexible configurations. It features to create multiple customized Email Messages which can be send over pre defined time, and using probabilities.

Defining Probabilities, is which message has more preference to acknowledge the visitor who commented on the blog. Below screenshot defines how to assign appropriate probability to a message.

Above screenshot clears how to assign probability to the messages, as we learnt it in our secondary school education, that probability never exceeds 1.

The Thank Me Later lets you customize the message, in two ways:- plain text and rich html text. Below is screenshot explaining the basic editing of a message.

Once these options are updated the plugin is set and configured. Whenever a visitor comments on the blog, will be acknowledged automatically. Below screenshot explains the process, when the comment is posted, the email is sent to acknowledge the comment author.

I thought of adding that plugin to my site as well, but I didn’t as it would eventually end up looking too “robotic” when the e-mail is received by the recipient. I also sometimes receive it myself from other sites and I always know that it’s not a personal message. Some of the messages may look personal, but when I receive it again a week later after adding another comment, well… :)
