Wordpress 3.0 Bug: Converting Wordpress name, Small p Into CAPS P

Wordpress 3.0 has released some time back and something weird is happening with my blog after that. Initially I thought it’s my mistake but later on I realized it’s because of wordpress 3.0.

I don’t know it’s a bug or intentionally added by Wordpress but what ever it is, it is creating issue for me and many bloggers.

One of the major problem which is happening because of this is , many of my Wordpress images are broken which has name Wordpress in it.

This is happening because Wordpress is changing small “p” letter into word “Wordpress” Into CAPS “P”.

I hope to see any solution to this problem soon, as into my blog I see lots of broken images. Are you facing the similar issue?

Blogging is a way to share your views, knowledge and passion. How many times you get tired of writing and wanted that you can speak and it should convert into blog post. No wonder Wordpress is best blogging platform and today Wordpress took one step ahead by adding a new feature in Wordpress.com blogs. Blog by voice call.

According to official post

The future is now, folks. You can now go to your My Blogs tab, enable Post by Voice, and get a special number and code to call your blog. After you’re done, the audio file from your phone call will be posted to your blog for all to listen to and enjoy. (And added to your RSS feed for podcast support.)

So now you can post to your WordPress via the web, email, iPhone, Android,Blackberry, desktop clients, and now any telephone in the world. Of course when you post it can be pushed to Facebook, Twitter, and more using the Publicize feature. What more could you want?

I believe this feature is revolutionary and this will encourage blogging more.

How to Enable blogging via Voice call in Wordpress.com blog?

To enable blogging via Voice call, you need to go into Your dashboard and Enable voice call for your selected blog. You will be provided with a secret key and you need to call the listen number and enter the secret key. <complete details>

Wordpress 3.0 Beta 1 Ready to download

We all have been waiting for the release of Wordpress 3.0, because this version will cover gap between Wordpress and Wordpress MU. Right now Wordpress has announced the release of Wordpress 3.0 beta 1, which is a pre version before the release of beta 2 and finally Wordpress 3.0 Final.

This beta version is released for testing and finding any bugs, so I will highly suggest better use it on your local or test server. Wait for sometime when Wordpress will release the final Wordpress 3.0 version.

One of the remarkable feature of Wordpress 3.0 is launch of new default theme from Wordpress Twenty ten. At least we will get rid of the boring default Wordpress theme.

Download Links to Old version of Wordpress

Some time when we try auto upgrade of Wordpress using default Wordpress upgrade option, Wordpress give many errors like memory exhausted or wp-includes/default-widgets.php on line 1038 or could be many other.

Solution to these problems are not very simple Like we might need to disable all the plugins using FTP or phpmyadmin. We need to change the theme to default theme , manually upgrade Wordpress or in some major cases reinstalling wordpress with the same old version.

While working on a client project, I faced the similar issue and I had to reinstall the previous version. The problem is finding the old version of wordpress.

Luckily Wordpress maintain an archive page from where you can download the old version of Wordpress. I’m sure this link will be handy in hard times :

Wordpress 2.9.2 released Fix Trash Security Issue

Wordpress released 2.9 some time back and with it, it also introduced a new feature known as Wordpress trash. In which instead of deleting a comment or post, it can directly land into your trash folder.

Though it left with little bug that is, any subscriber of your blog can see the content of your trash folder and this may have some sensitive data (Posts or comments)

So if you have registration open for your blog, make sure you Upgrade your Wordpress to latest 2.9.2 version.

Wordpress for Android Officially Released

Few days back I informed you about the rumors of release of Android Application for Wordpress. The rumors turned out into reality and Wordpress released the official application for Android phones.

Like Wordpress for iPhone, even Android is capable of doing multi-functions like

Wordpress Default kubrick theme will die, Guess the successor

This is really good that finally wordpress team has been struck by the wave of theme framework revolution and it will even get better when wordpress version 3.0 comes out as its going to have a lots of cool new features and of course the above said new theme packed in it as well.

This post is a no brainer but I just thought of sharing this email that has been lying in my personal web mail for quite some time now

This is how the mail read:-

“Version 3.0 will have a new default theme, better upgrades, dynamic image resizing, and more. See you next year!”

Looking at this email its for sure that wordpress 3.0 will surely have new theme instead of the current default kubrick theme.

If wordpress team does not come up with a new new theme,here is a list of theme’s that I would personally like to see in wordpress 3.0

Hybrid by Justin Tadlock OR
Thematic by Ian Stewart OR
WP framework by Ptah Dunbar

These are all free themes and look descent without much modifications ,and can customized to almost any framework one wants.

Leaving aside the free themes if wordpress (In fact Automattic) thinks of premium theme I would without any hesitation love to see thesis as the default wordpress theme . (I am a avid dreamer)

I would love to know your suggestions on which themes do you think are the best candidates as a successor to the wordpress kubrick theme, so please comment and share your views.
