While testing search box on a wordpress blog, with some relevant keywords for information over technology, I wasn’t able get appropriate results on it. I was amazed when I manually, found the information over the same blog using the tag words. Later, I found, that the search box was only searching for the keywords only from the content and not the tags, comments, authors etc.
I tried the similar practice on my blog, and found that default search in wordpress, limits only for the content, which is a limitation and a negative aspect for a visitor searching on the blog.
Then I found Search Everything WordPress Plugin, so as to refine search results for precise keywords on a blog or a website. Search Everything WordPress Plugin extends the ability of a default wordpress search, with its advanced options available on the admin panel. It features to highlight search results with desired colour matching the theme, and the complexity of the Search Results. Complexity of the Searching is the depth of search results, like searching Comments, Tag words, Content etc…

As soon as the settings are updated for the Search Everything Plugin, the search results gets refined. For instance using the previous example of a keyword “akyjoe”, and now we will try searching for “aky” who is another author on the blog. Below screenshot concludes with the revised results found for the desired keyword.

Will this work on Wordpress.com? I heard plugins are only for Wordpress.org.
