When you Install WordPress Uncategorized is the category which is added by default and this is one of the first thing which you should do is delete the Uncategorized category from WordPress. Though if you try to delete this category, it won’t get deleted and will come back again. Here is a simple trick which you can do to delete this category.
Go to General>Writing and add another category as default category:
Now go to your category and delete the Uncategorized category.
