Wordpress 2.8.5 Released Before Wordpress 2.9

Wordpress is the most popular blogging platform and best thing about thiswordpress_logo blogging platform is it keeps updating its software version to keep it self secure from latest exploit and hardening the security of wordpress.

Wordpress is supposed to release its 2.9 version soon, but before that we got an unexpected release of 2.8.5 version.

According to official page of wordpress, wordpress 2.8.5 release harden :

  • A fix for the Trackback Denial-of-Service attack that is currently being seen.
  • Removal of areas within the code where php code in variables was evaluated.
  • Switched the file upload functionality to be whitelisted for all users including Admins.
  • Retiring of the two importers of Tag data from old plugins.

Wordpress update its version to make the wordpress hack-proof. If you have not updated your wordpress, you should do it ASAP.

I think Wordpress will launch 2.9 version but they may want to fix this version before
