ElegantThemes has updated all its themes to fix most of the bugs reported so far. They have also added some new features, changed some existing ones, and changed the source code of the themes so that they are faster and more secure.
Complete List of ElegantThemes Back-End Updates
• Timthumb Removed: Until now, all the themes from ElegantThemes used both the Thumbnail custom field and native featured image feature of WordPress for image uploading and Timthumb for resizing and cropping the images. Timthumb is hard to configure on many server environments and caused performance issues on large sites.
But now, ElegantThemes use the internet image resizing and cropping mechanism of WordPress to create the thumbnails, which is a great improvement.
• Performance Improvement: Many changes have been made in the ePanel, the ElegantThemes options framework, to improve the speed in the WordPress dashboard. Most of the themes’ code is also rewritten which improves the front-end theme loading speed a lot.
• Update Notifications & Changelogs Added: Earlier the only way to check if a theme from ElegantThemes is updated is to download the current version from members area, and check its changelog file. But now you will see a update notification in the WordPress dashboard whenever the theme is updated.
You can check the changelog of a theme directly in the Appearances > Themes section of WordPress dashboard or in the ElegantThemes members area.
• Security Audit: All the source code of the themes have been audited to make the themes much more secure.
